Design & provision of UCV canopy – The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle
The Alexandra Hospital is the flagship hospital of BMI Healthcare, Britain’s largest provider of independent healthcare. A new hybrid cath lab is part of the £8m refurbishment and upgrade programme carried out in 2016/17 at the hospital.
Philips were appointed by BMI to supply the FD-20 imaging arm. Interfurn designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned the
Interfurn is the ONLY manufacturer in the UK who can fully integrate with the Philips FR-20 as not only does the equipment need to be skirtless it has to be completely ceiling flush as well.
A challenge here was the restricted ceiling void space available and therefore the Interfurn UCV is just 500mm deep, still maintaining a 2900mm finished ceiling height. LED lighting is integrated and within the canopy providing 1000LUX at table level and controlled through the surgeons panel.
